Outstanding homework example

At the beginning of the school year we changed how homework was completed. Children now have less tasks which means they have more freedom to do their one chosen task to the best of their ability.

A pupil in Year 6 has blown us away with her astounding homework presentation. Each week, this pupil hands her homework in to an excellent standard and goes above and beyond.

As well as the one creative task that children complete, they are also given spellings, reading and times tables or maths to complete.

However, as you can see from the example, practising spellings isn't just about copying the word numerous times, it is about finding other ways to help practise them. This could include writing the word within a sentence, defining the word or chunking the word up.

As always, homework is due in on a Wednesday and returned on a Friday.

If children lose any tasks, teachers have spares available.
