We have recently been awarded the School Games Gold Award! Here are some of the reasons why...
Boys team won the league not losing a game or conceding a goal.
·         Reached the Finals at the King Power Stadium
·         Played 4 games and won all 4.
·         Unfortunately lost in the final on penalties!
We also entered The Rice Bowl tournament for the first time and reached the Quarter Finals! This is a wonderful achievement from the team!
Our girls team did not enter a league but have played a number of fixtures against schools. Their progression has been fantastic to see and their positive attitudes rub off on each other.
10 pupils from year 4,5 & 6 represented our school in our first ever Triathlon. This consisted of an 800m cycle, 300m run and a 50m swim.
Cross Country
30 pupils took part in the annual Cross Country event held at Knighton Park. Great determination and resilience was needed to complete the 1,400m run. There was approximately 1000 runners in total on the day and 4 of our pupils qualified for the Cross Country finals which was held at Prestwold Hall.
Sportshall Athletics
12 pupils from year 5 & 6 competed in the Sportshall Athletics event at the start of the year. They all worked incredibly hard and had great fun at this event!
We took a to compete in the Netball competition. With each game, the pupils became more and more confident and displayed fantastic teamwork.
We took part in a Basketball event before Christmas and had a great time! Our pupils shown great teamwork and remained positive even when we were facing defeat.
Swimming Gala
In January, we entered the prestigious Swimming Gala. This is an extremely popular event and this year we finished a personal best 4th out of 12 schools. We had a number of pupils win their heats in very quick times!
We took 2 teams to this event and thoroughly enjoyed it! Similar to our netball experience, the pupils gained more confident with each game. Their teamwork and encouragement was great to see.
Kwik Cricket
Our pupils had a fantastic experience taking part in the Kwik Cricket event this year. They took part in a range of matches and had a great time batting and bowling!
The big one! We had a brilliant time at the annual Athletics event held at Saffron Lane. This year we had a record number of children qualify for the finals. We finished the day with 2 medals; A Gold medal in the year 4 50m sprints and a Bronze medal in the year 4 boys relay race.
Our last event of the year was the Tri-Golf festival. We had a fantastic experience and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Campione! Campione! Ole! Ole! Ole! Every Friday after school eight children from mainstream and the Learning Zone have been drilling, dribbling and driving the ball into the back of the net. Fit and firing, these heroes travelled to Holmstead Park (where Leicester City’s U21s play and train) and lay waste to every team put against them. Top Scoring, Clean sheets… there was not an award that this team did not walk away with. The boys want to say a thanks to Andy their coach for all his hard work throughout the year.
