School Life

We are fortunate enough to have lots of great opportunities here at Inglehurst Junior School. Read below to find out what we get up to on a daily basis.

Golden dots

Golden dots was introduced last year to showcase just how polite we are and how seriously we take our rights and responsibilities around school. When we have received a set number of golden dots (50,100,150 etc) we receive a certificate, lanyard, prize AND points for our house team. Each term we end with a special golden dot raffle where there are lots of fabulous prizes to be won.

Skipping Henry (every Tuesday and Thursday)

Henry has kindly spent many years coming to our school teaching the children fantastic skipping skills. As well as learning something new, they build confidence ready for an amazing end of year performance in front of the school and parents.

Brian Hookway

Brian Hookway, a Leicester City football coach, delivers Brain Gym and SAQ (Speed, agility and quickness) sessions to all year groups on a rotation each Monday. These sessions help to build on children's coordination, concentration and agility.

After-school clubs

We are spoilt for choice where clubs are concerned! Currently ranging from Japanese, Gymnastics, Street Dance, Coding Club and Life Skills, there is a club to suit everyone’s passions and interests. A full list of when these clubs run are found on the website underneath the ‘Parents Zone’ tab.

Football team

Our school comprises of a girls team and a mixed team. The mixed team participates in a school league each Wednesday and if successful, they will have the opportunity to play at the home of the Premier League champions; Leicester City.

Golf

Year 5 and 6 take part in a Tri-Golf league at Humberstone Heights. The children have great fun learning new skills within a competitive environment.

Cooking

Due to being lucky enough to have our own kitchen especially for the children, we are able to have lots of cooking activities each week. As a treat for children who work hard, they are selected to cook something delicious then write up a step by step recipe to take home.

'Dinner date' with Mrs Downes / Mrs Harvey

Every Friday, 2 lucky children from each year group have the opportunity to dine with Mrs Downes or Mrs Harvey. A special invitation goes out those children who are trying really hard in school.
