Our Approach
At Inglehurst Junior School Resilience has become one of our five key elements to provide children with a lifelong education that goes beyond the classroom.
By creating an inclusive and accepting environment, staff provide children with the correct steps to navigate their way through circumstances, which are out of their control. IJS staff are mindful of the fact that such circumstances can affect the way that students think, feel and behave, which at times can negatively influence their ability to access the curriculum.
The Inglehurst Junior School Pathways to Resilience provides children with the vocabulary to emotionally articulate their feelings, recognise and be celebrated for character traits, which build their self-esteem, and act as a turning point for our pupils to understand that although life circumstances can be difficult by adopting a growth mind-set they do not have to remain difficult.
